You want an electric bike you can throw in the boot, take on a road trip, stow under a desk, or ride to work without chaining up a full-size bicycle. The Tebco Wanderer 658C folds down to 900 × 800 × 400mm, runs up to 60km on a charge, and comes with everything already fitted — motor, lights, mudguards, the lot.
A proper e-bike that goes where a full-size one can't
The Wanderer folds. That sounds simple, but it changes everything about how you use an electric bike. Chuck it in the car for a weekend away, take it on a boat, store it in an apartment — a 20" folding frame that packs down to under a metre long opens up riding options that a standard e-bike can't match. At 22kg it's not featherlight, but the motor does the heavy lifting.
A motor that responds to you, not a switch
The 250W Sheng-Yi rear hub motor is activated by a torque-sensing bottom bracket — meaning it reads how hard you're pedalling and adds power proportionally, rather than just kicking in at a fixed level. The result is a ride that feels natural, not jerky. Australian road-legal at a 25km/h assist limit.
Samsung battery, up to 60km range
The 10.5Ah Samsung lithium cell is the heart of this bike. Samsung's cells are used in this segment because they're consistent and reliable — rated up to 800 full charge cycles before significant degradation, and good for up to 60km on a 1:1 pedal assist setting. The 36V 2A AU-compliant charger is included.
Shimano gears for when you want to work a bit harder
The Shimano Altus 7-speed drivetrain with Altus rear derailleur gives you proper gearing for hills, headwinds, and the days you want a workout rather than a free ride. The Revo-style shifter is intuitive and low-maintenance.
TEKTRO disc brakes front and rear
Mechanical disc brakes on both wheels — TEKTRO Aries — give you consistent, reliable stopping in the wet, the dust and the heat. On an electric bike where you're regularly hitting 25km/h, having real disc brakes (not rim brakes) matters.
Ready to ride, day and night
Front and rear Buchel LED static lights are fitted as standard, along with black plastic mudguards and an audible horn. This isn't a stripped-down e-bike you need to accessorise — it's set up for real-world commuting out of the box.
Built to handle Broome's mix of flat sealed roads, warm weather and the kind of stop-start commuting where an electric boost makes every ride more enjoyable.

FAQ:
Who is the Wanderer 658C best for?
It's ideal for commuters who want an electric bike they can also pack away — in a car, on a boat, in a small apartment or under a work desk. The 60km range covers most daily commutes easily, and the folding frame makes it practical in situations where a full-size e-bike simply isn't. It suits riders from about 155cm to 185cm based on the seat height range.
How far will it actually go on a charge?
Up to 60km on a 1:1 pedal assist setting — meaning you're pedalling along with the motor rather than letting it do all the work. Real-world range depends on rider weight, terrain and how much assist you use. Heavier use of higher assist levels will reduce range; lighter use on flatter ground can match or exceed the rated figure. The Samsung battery is rated to 800 full charge cycles before significant capacity loss.
Is it legal to ride on Australian roads?
Yes. The 250W motor and 25km/h assist limit put it within Australian e-bike regulations — no licence, registration or helmet law exceptions required beyond standard cycling rules. If you're unsure about local WA rules, pop into the Broome store and we can talk it through.
How long does it take to charge?
Charging duration depends on the level of discharge of the battery. Normal charging duration is 5 to 8 hours from flat.
How does the folding work — is it easy?
The frame folds at the midpoint and the handlebar stem folds down, bringing the bike to 900 × 800 × 400mm. Most riders get the fold and unfold routine sorted within the first few uses.
What's the difference between torque sensing and cadence sensing?
Most budget e-bikes use cadence sensing — the motor kicks in at a fixed level whenever the pedals turn. Torque sensing reads how hard you're actually pushing and adds power proportionally, so the assist feels smooth and natural rather than on/off. It also means you get more range on easier terrain because the motor isn't working harder than it needs to.
Does it come assembled?
Bought in-store, it's fully built and checked before it goes home with you.
What warranty does it come with?
All our bikes come with a 1-year warranty from the date of purchase, covering manufacturing defects and material issues under normal use.
