Built for the long way around
You want to follow the gravel road just to see where it goes, load up for a few days away, and stay comfortable when the surface turns rough. The 2027 Trek Checkpoint SL 6 AXS is built for exactly that kind of riding.
Carbon comfort for long gravel days
The lightweight 500 Series OCLV Carbon frame uses Trek’s IsoSpeed technology to take the sting out of corrugations, potholes and rough gravel. It smooths out trail chatter before it reaches your body, helping you stay fresher when the kilometres start adding up.
Gravel Endurance geometry gives you a slightly taller, more comfortable riding position with a shorter reach. You still get confident handling on loose surfaces, but without the stretched-out position of a gravel race bike. That makes it a strong choice for long-distance exploring, bikepacking and all-day rides around Broome and the Kimberley.
Wireless shifting with a wide gravel range
The SRAM Rival XPLR AXS E1 wireless drivetrain gives you precise electronic shifting without gear cables running through the frame. Its simple 1x13 setup combines a 40-tooth chainring with a wide-range 10–46T cassette, giving you useful climbing gears without sacrificing speed on sealed stretches.
The removable SRAM AXS battery can be charged away from the bike, and a charger is included.
Ready for rougher roads and bigger plans
Bontrager Girona Pro 700x42mm tyres arrive set up Tubeless Ready with GR puncture protection. The frame accepts tyres up to 50mm wide without mudguards, letting you add more grip and comfort when your riding takes you onto softer sand, loose gravel or rough station tracks.
Downtube storage gives you a handy place for tools and small essentials. Integrated mounts for racks, mudguards, bottles and frame bags make the Checkpoint easy to set up for commuting, overnight trips or proper multi-day adventures.
Honestly, this is the bike for someone who values comfort and carrying capacity as much as speed. If you want a stripped-back gravel race machine, Trek’s Checkmate range may be the better fit. If you want one carbon bike that can explore, tour and still move quickly, the Checkpoint makes a lot of sense.

FAQ
Who is the Trek Checkpoint SL 6 AXS Gen 3 best for?
It is best for riders who want a comfortable carbon gravel bike for long-distance exploring, bikepacking, gravel roads and mixed-surface riding. Its geometry prioritises all-day comfort and carrying capacity rather than an aggressive gravel-racing position.
Can I use it for bikepacking and multi-day trips?
Yes. It has internal downtube storage plus mounts for racks, mudguards, bottles and integrated frame bags. The 125kg total weight allowance includes the bike, rider and cargo, so your complete loaded weight must remain under that limit.
Will it handle rough gravel and corrugated roads?
Yes. IsoSpeed helps reduce vibration from rough surfaces, while the supplied 700x42mm tubeless tyres add grip and cushioning. You can fit tyres up to 50mm wide without mudguards if you want greater flotation and comfort.
How does wireless SRAM AXS shifting work?
The shifters communicate electronically with the rear derailleur, giving you precise gear changes without traditional shift cables. The derailleur uses a removable rechargeable SRAM AXS battery, and the charger is included.
Is it suitable for gravel racing?
It can certainly handle gravel events, but its Gravel Endurance geometry is designed primarily for comfort, control and long adventures. Riders focused mainly on outright racing speed may prefer Trek’s more aggressive Checkmate platform.
Which size should I choose?
Start with both your height and inside-leg measurement using the supplied sizing chart. If you sit between sizes, pop into Broome Cycles or contact the team before ordering. Your proportions, flexibility and preferred riding position can affect the best choice.
Does the bike arrive assembled?
Bought in-store, it's fully built and tuned before you ride away. For online orders drop us an email at shop@broomecycles.com.au or call (08) 9192 1871 to confirm shipping/assembly details.
What warranty does it come with? All our bikes come with a 1-year warranty from the date of purchase, covering manufacturing defects and material issues under normal use.
