Why this tube and not the cheap one
Ride the whole track and stop thinking about your tubes.
If you ride anywhere with bindii, goatheads, wattle thorns or the general spread of sharp debris that comes with a regional road shoulder, you already know the routine. You pump up before you leave, you carry a spare and levers, and somewhere in the back of your head you are waiting for the hiss. The 6725 Thorn Resistant Bike Tube is built to take that out of the ride.
It is a heavy-gauge butyl tube with a 3.5mm wall through the tread section, several times the thickness of the standard tube most bikes ship with. Thorns that would push straight through a normal tube stop in the rubber. It is not magic and nothing is fully puncture proof, but it turns the common flat into a rare one.
Why we stock it
6725 Cycles is the online side of Broome Cycles, and Broome Cycles has spent more than twenty years running a workshop in one of the harder corners of Australia for bike tyres. Thorn season is not a theory here, it is a queue at the counter. These are the tubes we fit to our own hire fleet and recommend across the workbench, which is the only reason they carry our name.
Choosing your size and valve
Your size is printed on the sidewall of your tyre, for example 700 x 38C or 26 x 2.10. Match that number. For the valve, look at what comes through your rim now: a Schrader valve is the wide one that takes a service station pump, a Presta valve is the narrow one with a small brass nut on top. If you are unsure, call the shop and we will work it out with you.

Common questions
Are you actually an Australian brand?
Yes, with a caveat we would rather say up front. 6725 Cycles is the online arm of Broome Cycles, a shop that has traded in Broome for more than twenty years. The tubes themselves are manufactured overseas, which is printed on the box. What is Australian is who specified them, who stocks them, who fits them and who answers the phone when something is wrong.
Will this actually stop punctures?
No tube stops every puncture and we are not going to tell you otherwise. A thicker wall means thorns that would go straight through a standard tube usually stop in the rubber. It turns a common problem into an occasional one.
What if I order the wrong size?
Send it back unused and we will swap it and cover the postage both ways. Easier still, ring us first on (08) 9192 1871.
Is it heavier than a normal tube?
Yes. Extra rubber weighs more. On a commuter, a hire bike or a kid's bike you will not feel it. If you are chasing grams on a road bike, this is not the tube for you.
