Questions people actually ask
Are you actually an Australian bike shop?
Yes — and we'll be specific, because plenty of "Australian" bike sites are a logo and a rented warehouse. 6725 Cycles is the online arm of Broome Cycles, a physical shop at 2 Hammersley St, Broome WA that's been trading for more than twenty years. Fat Bandit is likewise Australian owned and supported, designed for Australian riders. You're buying an Australian brand's bike from an Australian shop.
How fast does it go?
Pedal assist is limited to 25km/h in the street-compliant EN 250W configuration, with a 6km/h walk-assist throttle. An Off-Road Ready configuration removes the throttle restriction — but that's strictly for private property use and may not be road legal. We'll always give you the straight version of what's legal where you ride.
Is it road legal in Australia?
The Bandit is supplied in line with the EN15194 e-bike standard in its street configuration. Rules vary a little by state, so check your local regulations — or just ask us and we'll walk you through the WA position.
How far will it really go on a charge?
Up to 100km in ideal conditions; a comfortable everyday average is around 80km. Rider weight, terrain, assist level and soft sand all pull that number around — which is exactly why the big 960Wh battery matters.
Can I take the battery out to charge it?
Yes. The battery is removable, so you can charge it inside while the bike stays in the shed. A full charge takes about 8–10 hours from empty on the supplied charger.
Does it arrive ready to ride?
If it comes through us, that's the whole point — assembled and safety-checked by our mechanics before you ride it. Bikes shipped direct arrive partially assembled and need final setup (handlebars, pedals, lights, guards, front wheel).
Can I ride it in the rain?
Yes — it's built for real-world conditions including wet weather. It's not fully waterproof though, so avoid prolonged heavy soakings and never submerge it. Up here that mostly means don't ride it through the creek in the wet season.
What if something goes wrong?
Call us. As an authorised dealer we handle warranty claims locally, stock and fit genuine parts, and service the bike in our own workshop. That's the difference between buying from a shop and buying from a listing.
