This is the first bike they'll actually want to ride. The Stinger 12" has the look of a real BMX — alloy frame, crossbar handlebar, chunky Comp III knobby tyres — and the beginner-friendly setup to back it up: coaster brake, training wheels, and a low frame they can step onto without a wobble.
Looks tough, rides easy
The Stinger is built on a 6061 alloy BMX-style frame with Radius kids geometry and a genuinely low stand-over height. Your young rider can plant both feet on the ground and feel in control from the first pedal stroke. Alloy keeps the weight down — important at this size, because a lighter bike is one a small kid can actually handle and manoeuvre confidently.
A fork that handles like it means it
The MXTEC oversized steel BMX-style fork gives the Stinger snappy, responsive handling and a planted, stable feel. It looks the part too — this isn't a bike your kid will want to park at the back of the shed.
Knobby tyres that go where kids go
The 12½" Comp III knobby tyres roll easily on pavement and paths, but have real grip in the dirt and gravel. Whether they're doing laps of the driveway or exploring the red dirt out the back, the Stinger handles it.
Stopping sorted
The rear coaster brake stops the bike the moment your child pedals backwards — simple, intuitive, and perfect for young riders still building confidence. A full-length chainguard keeps little fingers and clothing well clear of the drivetrain.
Padded where it counts
A protective pad set for both the handlebar crossbar and stem is included — proper BMX-style padding that protects small riders if they take a tumble. Colour-matched reinforced training wheels are fitted and ready, and remove cleanly when your child is ready to ride solo.
Built and checked here in Broome, ready to ride the moment it's out of the box.

FAQ:
Who is the Stinger 12" best for?
It's designed as a first pedal bike for young kids — typically around aged 2-5. The low stand-over alloy frame and coaster brake make it genuinely easy to learn on, while the BMX styling means most kids are immediately excited to get on it.
How is the Stinger different from the Radius Petal 12"?
Both are 12" alloy first bikes with coaster brakes and training wheels, but the Stinger has a BMX-style frame, crossbar handlebar, knobby Comp III tyres and a full pad set — it's the sportier, tougher-looking option. The Petal is designed specifically for girls and comes with a front basket. The Stinger suits any kid who wants something a bit more rugged and bold.
What's a coaster brake and will my child find it easy to use?
A coaster brake stops the bike when your child pedals backwards — no hand strength or lever-squeezing needed. It's the most natural way for young kids to slow down and is standard on first bikes for good reason. When they're ready to move to a bigger bike with hand brakes, the transition is straightforward.
Do the training wheels come off when they're ready?
Yes. The reinforced training wheels are colour-matched and designed to remove cleanly when your child has their balance sorted. They're not flimsy aftermarket add-ons — they're built to be used properly and then removed when the time comes.
Is a 12" bike the right size for my child?
The 12" wheel size with low stand-over height suits most children around aged 2-5. The most important fit check is whether your child can sit on the saddle and put both feet flat on the ground. If you're unsure, pop into the Broome store and we'll check the fit in person.
Does it come assembled?
Bought in-store, it's fully built and checked before it goes home with you.
What warranty does it come with?
All our bikes come with a 1-year warranty from the date of purchase, covering manufacturing defects and material issues under normal use.
